Recently the Film & Entertainment Industry has brought a lot of awareness to our community. If harnessed correctly the positive impact on Smart Growth for the greater Lake of the Ozarks area and the City of Lake Ozark could be tremendous.

Missouri Senator Denny Hoskins is sponsoring SB 94 known as the “Show Me Act” which would reauthorize tax credits for expenses related to the production of motion media projects in Missouri. These tax credits once in place expired in 2013.

In the Heart of Lake Ozark and just across the Iconic Bagnell Dam is the Historic “Strip” featured in the Emmy Award Winning Netflix series “Ozark”. The majority of the extremely popular series Ozark was filmed in Georgia, a film friendly state. I believe the State of Missouri and the Lake of the Ozarks would be well served to support SB 94.

The City of Lake Ozark is home to Shawnee Bluff Winery & The Skybar Amphitheater @ The Encore Lakeside Grill these Venues offer high quality live national recording acts. Both businesses offer lodging and The Encore Lakeside Grill also offers convention and business meeting space among other amenities such as Lake Ozark’s only Swim up Bar.

A 15 minute drive from Lake Ozark to Ozarks Amphitheater in Camdenton you will find the long overdue and spectacularly managed venue. Experiencing amazing success and also attracting National recording artists of varying styles of music, I am proud to have Ozarks Amphitheater offering our residents and visitors an evening of acoustical bliss.

If you have a home, business, property or other location that you would like to see featured in a  book of photos showcasing all of what Lake of the Ozarks has to offer please send them to us at…

Thank you,

Mayor Newberry
