To the Residents of Lake Ozark, we know growth is coming regardless of our individual opinions. I am committed to work hard on making sure the growth is “smart growth” well planned with identifiable favorable outcomes for our town. Our city infrastructure has been decaying for decades without adequate revenue to replace it. During my 3 years as your Mayor, I have avoided ALL tax increases in favor of better management practices and cutting costs.
By employing these practices, the City of Lake Ozark continues to make significant progress with reinvestments into our city infrastructure. In the past 60 days the City of Lake Ozark successfully resurfaced a critical portion of Bagnell Dam Blvd from the MM Bridge to School Rd. This fall we will be resurfacing the area of Bagnell Dam Blvd. from School Rd. to Bagnell Dam completing the North one half of Bagnell Dam Blvd.
Today I will be accepting and signing a bid to reconstruct a portion of Lighthouse Rd. leading to many of our residents’ homes. This road project is a must and will not only correct a poor-quality road, it will also provide our residents with a much safer ingress off of Hwy W and onto the street they live on. Over the course of the next few months many of our residential streets will be getting the same street improvements that Osage National and Beacon Point received last year!
I would like to thank the residents for their patience as we continue to make improvements to the City of Lake Ozark. These improvements could not have been completed in such a short time without the hard work of city staff. Our public works director and city administrator have stood beside me with the same conviction as I to turn our aged infrastructure into a condition we can all be proud of. To our Board of Alderman… while there are times, we differ in opinions I appreciate your willingness to keep our professionalism intact and work together for the benefit of the folks we work for who we must never forget “our taxpayers”.
Thank you everyone!
Mayor Newberry
